Entry #9 Food Industry

Now for my favorite topic ever... FOOD. When you think of food the first thing you don’t think of is all the ways it can be harmful or bad right? Well sometimes it is! The food industry is a big industry and there are many aspects to it.  I found a website that shows 7 challenges and trends the food industry can expect in 2021 especially after the whole Covid-19 pandemic. I’m here to narrow it down and educate you more on the food industry and how there can be many problems in the industry to begin with. You might be asking, well what is the food industry? It is companies that involve processing raw food materials, packaging, and distributing them. It can be fresh, prepared or packaged foods. It even contains beverages, alcoholic and non-alcoholic.

One of the first challenges that can occur in the food industry is maintaining a safety environment and standard. This means to protect the food that is being sent to each country and making sure it is safe to eat. It is critical because it allows to maintain the trust consumers may have in those who distribute the foods. Another challenge is dealing with constantly shutting down. It has been hard for the industry to keep consistency when there have been many cases and places are constantly needing to shut down. Restaurants were forced to stay open and close when necessary, because of the high in covid cases. Although there are many other challenges they have faces, these have been one of the top ones they had to deal with. It is important to know what goes on behind the process of our foods that we are putting into our bodies. I advise you to do your own research because it'll amaze you on the things that are put into the foods or the process behind it.
