Entry #6: Masks...

On March 25th of 2021, Our governor lifted the local mask mandate. This means masks are not enforceable and are not required at any public area such as bars and restaurants and stores. He acted on this because he stated that many Arizonians have gotten the vaccine and covid will slowly just disappear. Although many are already vaccinated and have not gotten or been expose to covid it is not right. Masks not only protect you from the virus but help protect those around you who may easily be exposed.

The day the mandate was lifted, 32 deaths were reported making it 16,874 for the state pandemics total. While the deaths rate has decreased dramatically, it is still important and smart to stay protected and act in keeping yourself and everyone around you safe. He also issued for all bars and nightclubs to open with no restrictions. This means they do not need a mask to enter and there is no capacity limit. There are still many possible ways to get the virus and by these mandates our governor is making is unacceptable

In my opinion, all people should be wearing masks at family gatherings and in public places. Not only does it stop from spreading the virus, but it stops the increase on the death rates. Covid has affected everyone's life in some shape, way, or form. It has been hard for all of America by dealing with losing family members, getting sick, being quarantined, and being isolated. Be sure to wear your masks everywhere you go and remember how hard someone's life can be with not wearing them.

  1. Hi Karina,
I completely agree with you, taking away mask I believe was not the best idea. This virus won't just simply go away, it will take time and with everyone doing their part in still following COVID guidelines. I still encourage family and friends to wear their mask everywhere they go. Good job on your post! This is a good conversation starter!

  2. Hi Karina,
I am with you 100% on this. It really upset me too that he lifted the mask mandate. It doesn't make sense to me when we aren't even at 50% with vaccines yet. We are so close to normal life again and not wearing masks anymore could make us regress. Not only is it proven effective by science, the flu this last season was almost nonexistent. I get my 2nd shot this week but I will continue to wear my mask just like I always wear my seat-belt in a car: to be safe.
    Nice post!
