As we all know, insurance is important.. right? I am pretty sure we have all seen an Allstate Mayhem commercial sometime in our life. These commercials are very popular and are often talked about. They are known for their sarcasm and dark humor. Today I will be talking about a specific one called Beauty Blogger. To start off, the author of these commercials have one goal with their audience and it is to sell them their insurance.
They want their audience to feel and understand the importance of insurance and how it is something you absolutely need to have in life. For this particular ad, I believe the targeted audience is women who leave their hair supplies on all day and leave home. It is kind of a smart way to reach those people and give them a heads up on if they don't have insurance they need it now. The author uses humor to reach these people because it is the easiest thing that will catch their attention. Especially if they can relate to it and they do it as well, the audience is more likely to understand the commercial and follow what it says. The way the author set this commercial up was even more appealing to the eye and coordinated well with what it was truly about. It is a beauty room with clothes and makeup of course. He shows a curling iron then catching on fire then walks away while saying "get Allstate and be better protected from Mayhem, like me". With this the audience was trying to give a guarantee protection with this insurance and persuade them to go and get it. The last thing shown was the Allstate symbol with "Are you in good hands"? These commercials definitely know how to advertise and persuade an audience to be on their side.
Hey, Karina. Your new entries are looking fairly good. You present some interesting topics and comments. Keep working on developing your content to create more significance for your audience to connect and relate to. Don't be so brief. Write more. Expand. As you write your entries, don't forget about rhetoric, the lead in, and the sign off. Good visual appeal. Keep editing carefully.
